How long will a crown last?

You also need maintain a regular dental hygiene schedule. Professional cleanings will remove tartar that your toothbrush and floss cannot reach, no matter how avid you are with your home care.
Don’t use your teeth as tools! – Opening cans, untying knots, and other off-label uses of teeth are not advised! You can put your teeth under unnecessary strain and fracture a tooth.
Bite gently – When eating things such as olives, meat, or any other substance that can have pits, bones, or hard areas, chew slowly. Being cautious can prevent a cracked tooth or crown.
Regular exams – Having a regular exam with our dentists will give them the opportunity to identify any problems or conditions.
Wear an athletic mouthguard – If you play sports or regularly have objects flying past your face, be proactive and come to our office for a custom sports mouthguard.
Wear a nightguard – If you have any history of clenching or grinding, you are a good candidate for a nightguard. Our custom splints fit snugly and feel comfortable.
